About Us
The Utah Chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (UHIMSS) is closely aligned with the National HIMSS organization and follows a similar charter, dedicated to advancing and managing healthcare information and technology.
UHIMSS provides statewide leadership in promoting the advancement and management of healthcare IT. Collectively, HIMSS represents more than 45,000 individual members across the nation. Within Utah, UHIMSS includes over 350 healthcare IT professionals, including CEOs, Presidents, CIOs, Vice Presidents, Directors, and other IT professionals.
UHIMSS is committed to improving healthcare IT in Utah through advocacy, collaboration, and education and to enhancing quality patient care throughout the state.

These professionals bridge technology and healthcare delivery by providing:

- Support for caregivers to create personalized clinical pathways

Information Systems Professionals
Information systems experts use technology to improve decision-making across various provider functions, including:

Management Engineering Professionals

Telecommunications experts manage communication systems, including:- Dispatch systems for code and trauma teams

- HIMSS members are responsible for developing many key innovations in healthcare delivery and administration, such as telemedicine, computer-based patient records, community health information networks, and portable/wireless healthcare computing.
