January Newsletter
President's Report

As we begin 2025, I'm energized by the incredible opportunities ahead for our chapter and the broader healthcare technology community in Utah. We're kicking off the year with an extraordinary event that exemplifies our commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare IT.
On January 27th, I invite you to join us for an exclusive event at Intermountain Medical Center's Doty Education Center. Dr. Rami Shorti, leading Intermountain Health's Advanced Visualization Engineering Center, will showcase how cutting-edge technologies like 3D visualization, immersive simulations, and 3D-printed surgical models are revolutionizing patient care. This event offers a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how entrepreneurial spirit within healthcare systems can drive technological innovation and improve patient outcomes.
Thanks to our sponsor Health Systems Informatics (HSI), lunch will be provided during this engaging session. The event runs from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, offering you a perfect opportunity to network with fellow healthcare technology professionals while experiencing the future of healthcare delivery.
I'm also thrilled to announce our upcoming annual Utah HIMSS Conference, scheduled for April 25th in Park City. This year's conference will focus on critical themes facing our industry: addressing burnout among healthcare IT professionals, building resilience, and harnessing the power of generative AI. We'll explore how technology can be a solution rather than a burden, advancing patient-centric care while supporting the well-being of our healthcare workforce. The conference will feature special recognition of Health IT heroes and showcase exciting Bench-to-Bedside innovations that are transforming healthcare delivery in Utah.
Are you a healthcare IT leader with insights to share? We're currently accepting speaker proposals for the conference. Whether you're leading innovative projects, implementing AI solutions, or developing strategies to combat burnout, we want to hear from you. Share your expertise and help shape the future of healthcare IT in Utah. Submit your speaker proposal here by February 15th.
Your active participation and engagement make our chapter vibrant and impactful. I encourage you to register for the January 27th event today and mark your calendars for our April conference in Park City. Together, we'll continue to advance healthcare through technology and innovation while building a more resilient and collaborative healthcare community in Utah.
Tarah Neujahr Bryan,
Utah HIMSS President
